These informal processes are usually faster, more private, less expensive and less stressful than litigation and trial.

A criminal action is the proceeding by which a person charged with a public offense is accused and brought to justice and punishment. A criminal action is prosecuted in the name of the people of the State of California, as a party, against the person charged with the offense.

Enhanced Collections

The Enhanced Collections Division provides a service by assisting the public in paying delinquent court ordered fines and fees. After a review of the debtor's income and expenses realistic payment arrangements are established to meet the financial obligation.

Family Law

The Family Law Division of the Riverside Superior Court handles cases in which people are ending a marriage or registered domestic partnership, identifying a child’s legal parents, determining custody and visitation issues, establishing or enforcing child and spousal support or dealing with domestic violence issues. The Family Law Division also handles cases in which a person wants to establish a legal parent-child relationship when that person is not married to the other parent.

Small Claims

Small Claims court is a special civil court where disputes are resolved quickly and inexpensively.  The rules are simple and informal.  You may ask a lawyer for advice before you go to court, but a lawyer is not allowed to represent you in court.
