Interpreter Services Division provides interpreters for the court for all mandated (i.e., Criminal, Traffic, Juvenile, Mental Health with appointed counsel and Department of Child Support cases) calendared hearings.
To request an interpreter for an upcoming mandated hearing (minimum 48 hours notice for Spanish; 5 days for languages other than Spanish, including American Sign Language), the party's attorney may submit a request for an interpreter online via email or complete the Interpreter Request Form and filing it with the clerk's office.
Interpreter Services Division must be notified of any changes, continuances, or cancellations as soon as possible in order to avoid late-cancellation situations. If an interpreter is requested and appears but is not used, the attorney may be held financially responsible for all interpreter fees.
To find an interpreter for non-mandated (i.e., Civil, Small Claims, Probate, and Adoptions) cases, refer to "Find an Interpreter" for names and telephone numbers of interpreters in your area. Counsel may wish to view “Payment Policies” information for guidance as to rates applicable to interpreting.
