Riverside County is a great place to live and work. With more than two million residents, Riverside is the fourth most populous county in California. The county spans 7,303 square miles, sharing its borders with Imperial, Orange, San Diego and San Bernardino counties. There are 24 cities within the county. Combined with a reasonable cost of living, Riverside’s multi-faceted environment of rolling hills, lakes and rivers, deserts and forests has made it one of the nation’s fastest growing counties for more than a decade. The Riverside County court system is divided into three geographical regions – Desert, Mid County and Western. There are a total of 15 court locations countywide, located in ten cities: Banning, Blythe, Corona, Hemet, Indio, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Palm Springs, Riverside and Temecula. Today, the court has 56 judges and 20 commissioners; non-judicial staff includes over 1,118 employees. The court’s budget is comprised of funding from several different sources – the State trial court trust fund, local revenue, and other (non-State) revenue. The budget for trial court funding/trust fund and local revenues (fees, interest) for Fiscal Year 2007-08 (July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008) is approximately $128 million, while the budget for court operations funded by other revenue is $39.7 million. The Superior Court of California, County of Riverside recognizes excellence and performance by providing comprehensive and competitive benefit programs for its employees.
