Riverside Superior Court Celebrates Juror Appreciation Week May 11–15
RIVERSIDE, CA— The Riverside Superior Court is proud to celebrate Juror Appreciation Week, May 11–15, recognizing the essential role jurors play in delivering justice and strengthening our community.
“Jurors are indispensable to the administration of justice,” said Presiding Judge Jacqueline C. Jackson. “Their willingness to serve reflects a deep commitment to fairness, civic responsibility, and the rule of law. We are grateful for the time and perspective they bring to our courtrooms each day.”
Established by the California Legislature in 1998, Juror Appreciation Week honors the vital contributions of citizens who dedicate their time and service to uphold one of our nation’s most fundamental rights, the right to trial by jury.
Each year, the Riverside Superior Court joins the Judicial Council of California in recognizing the millions of Californians who answer the call to serve. Their commitment brings to life the enduring principle that justice is best determined by a jury of one’s peers.
Court Executive Officer Jason B. Galkin added, “Jury service is one of the most direct ways individuals can participate in our democracy. We recognize the personal and professional sacrifices jurors make, and we remain committed to enhancing the jury experience through innovation, accessibility, and improved public service.”
In recognition of Juror Appreciation Week, the Court will display Juror Appreciation Week banners across multiple court facilities throughout Riverside County, highlighting the importance of juror service and expressing gratitude to those who serve.
Jurors are at the heart of our courts, and their service strengthens public trust and confidence in the justice system. This week serves as a meaningful opportunity to express appreciation for their dedication and civic engagement.
